  • Triacontahedron, Cardinal

The rhombic triacontahedron is an unusual thirty-sided form. Each face is a golden rhombus, meaning that its diagonals are proportional in length by the golden ratio (φ), about 1.618.

The triacontahedron is about 9″ in diameter and is currently for sale at Mystic Vintage co-op in Duncansville, PA.

The cardinal is a design I made using an illustration in the Audubon Book as inspiration, and was cut and assembled by my mother.

  • Ometochtli / the Rabbit-in-the-Moon

I’m told that ancient Central American people saw a rabbit, not a man in the moon; and that said rabbit was also an image of the deity representing drunkenness or the brewing of pulque, the ancient precursor to one of my favorite spirits, tequila.

I stared at images of the moon for hours looking to find the shape of a rabbit, and this is what I came up with.
